Kissing: presumptively not NSFW.

Whether gay, straight, or rodent, kissing has been a part of the Western visual canon since the early days of Disney, and certainly ought not to raise eyebrows for memes being made in the year 2022.

Kissing can express emotions including affection, friendship, humor, and is not necessarily sexual. In some cultures, kissing is a routine form of greeting.

That said, gifs that depict intense kissing/making out IMO may be within PG-13 or R territory, and could support an NSFW designation.

Depending on where you work, nothing on ImgFlip is safe for work. Some places if you are caught goofing off on the internet can get you in trouble at work. Some businesses will even monitor your internet usage, which websites you went to and how long at each one.

I don't have that problem were I work. I mostly stay off of ImgFlip while at work just because that's not what my company is paying me to do. It would be very easy for me to get away with it because I work at home.

I'm too busy at work to play on my phone. I could get away with it if I wanted to, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

The King James Version of the Bible in text and audio is at the same place the Book of Mormon text and audio. But I have no doubt that most versions of the Bible are available in text and audio. ChurchOfJesusChrist.org is where you can find the Bible, Book of Mormon and other scriptures we use. I'm not telling anyone to go there, I'm just putting the information out there.

I am glad to hear that. Over the years I have gotten a lot of crap for being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from other Christians. However, in the last few decades that crap has shifted from Christians to atheists and agnostics. I am not sure why they single us out but they do. In the state of California in the late 90's early 2000's there was a proposition on the state's ballot to protect marriage between a man and a woman. Lots of Christian Churches, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, supported it. The Catholic Church was the most involved in trying to get this proposition on the ballot and voted for. But it was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who took the brunt of all of the hatred from the left.
1 up, 2y
Yeah, because Mormons invested heavily in a campaign from UTAH for a referendum in California that had nothing to do with them. How would Mormons like it if the Protestants or Heaven forbid, the Catholic Church spent a ton of money on advertisement to promote their issue but in Utah, away from their homes?

And what did they do? In response to the flack, they caved in and hit reverse so quick, folks can still feel the whiplash today. Yeah, how's that for traditional religious values, chucked out the window because their role in promoting their issue got highlighted by the press.

The Church here in Utah is reaching out to the LGBT community. We're not changing our doctrine but the Church leaders are trying to establish open communications with them. There are a lot of LGBT in Salt Lake City. Not so much in the rest of the state with the possible exception of Provo.

They are also God's children. Same sex attraction is not a sin, acting on it sexually is. All sexual activity, outside of a legally married man and woman, is a sin. It's not just gay sex, it's all non-marital sex. Marriage is a contract between a man, a woman and God. God sets the terms of that contract, not man.

The Family Proclamation was ahead of its time. It talked about things that most of us had no idea what was coming.

What we are seeing in today's society is cultural Marxism. Marx was opposed to the traditional family. Instead he wanted children to be wards of the state (as in Hillary Clinton's "It Takes A Village" book). Parents are not to be involved in raising children.

Everything that has been promoted by the left in the last few decades has been designed to weaken or destroy the family. It's at the point where school administrator will do everything they can and a few things their not supposed to do, to try to get your kid to think he's transgendered or gay or lesbian.

Note to moderators: I am not talking bad about LGBT people. I am trashing people who want to destroy the family. If you think that I and trashing LGBT people in anyway then you are wrong, once again. So stop with your silly punishment. Never forget that it is your users who see that ads on your site. If you drive users away you lose money. When you lose money cutbacks have to be made and jobs are lost. If you drive too many users away then there will no longer be an ImgFlip. I am so close to shutting down my account and going to another meme generation site. And I'll try to persuade as many users as I can to also leave.

Okay, back to what I was saying. The Church is trying to reach out to all of God's children. It's what they should do. But the doctrines will never change. The commandments are not going away. The Church is still the Church, it's not morphing into a leftist religion.

When I lived in the Kansas City area I went to all of the Church historical sites. I even took a tour inside the Community of Christ's temple in Independence. The Community of Christ used to be the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was apparent to me that they decided to follow society and not God. I was shocked at how "politically correct" they have become.

I don't see our Church going in that direction at all.

Weaken or destroy the family by protecting it or family members from abuse, assistance for spouses and children who are victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, helping poor families in need, child labor laws, child welfare, social services, mental health services, maternity leave, improving schools and accessibility, nutritional school meals for the needy, drug rehab.... as opposed to certain 'neu-traditional' churches and religious-based societies (ie, Amish, Mennonite, Mormon, and various up and coming cults) who consider these things internal matters to be dealt by elders for whom prayer is usually the answer while the victims wallow in suffering secretly at home. Yup, he called that one right!

What's so funny about Mormons being targeted by atheists and agnostics with garbage being spouted towards the Mormons?

I think you need to reconsider your views on anti religion garbage. And if you don't necessarily agree with the religion, don't spout off garbage here but you won't be flagged because this is against free speech.

I've read the Book of Mormon. :D But then I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life and reading the Bible, Book of Mormon and other scriptures is just what you do. I am trying to use the actual name of the Church because the Church leaders want to drop the nickname, Mormon. Mormon is a prophet of God in the Book of Mormon. The people that hated us started calling us Mormons because of the Book of Mormon. Right after the Church was first organized in 1830 in the state of New York we have had our lives threatened and some even murdered because of membership in the Church. After moving the Church to different places in the United States and getting the same treatment (the governor of Missouri issued an extermination order against the Mormons, legalizing murder) we decided to leave the United States and went to Mexico. The area that is now Utah was once owned by Mexico. About a year after we arrived in Utah the United States annexed the western half of the U.S. I use "we" because I am a member of the Church, not because my ancestors were involved in any of that. My ancestors were all living in the South. Mostly in Alabama.

Because the name of the Church is a mouthful it just became easier to be known as Mormons and we even began calling ourselves Mormons. Twice in my lifetime the Church tried to distance ourselves from the name "Mormon", not the Book of Mormon or the prophet Mormon just being called Mormons. The first time didn't seem to work. Lately they are trying again saying that if you want to abbreviate the name then abbreviate it to The Church of Jesus Christ.

Okay I'm rambling again. I'll shut up now.

I am not criticizing your user name. I was just saying that when I type the name of the Church I will respect their admonition and use the full name. I actually wish that they would have kept the nickname because it's much easier to type and say. Plus everyone knows us by that name. But I understand that they want to emphasize that we are the Church of Jesus Christ so that people will know we are Christian. I've ran into a few people that didn't know we are Christian and there's some Christians who are telling others that we either don't believe in Jesus or we believe in another Jesus. Then there are those who think we worship Joseph Smith.

Anyway, as far as I am concerned you can be BritishMormon all you want. I'm not going to complain or criticize you for it. I'm too easy going and I just have better things to do with my time.

This is the system of government that Jesus will put in place when He returns. It is not what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is trying to impose on anyone. Until Jesus returns. Until then, "We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law." - 12th Article of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I don't know. I saw a meme that BritishMormon had posted saying that choosing senators is my responsibility. I didn't know that. He also listed several potential candidates. Most of them I don't know. I do know Abby_Normal (when I first joined ImgFlip I choose Abbey_Normal as my user name but changed it to The Knight Who Says Ni because of him) and I like him. If he wants to be a senator that would be great.

This whole thing is new to me. I don't know what responsibilities or what we do. I just assumed this was all just for the fun of it.

Fauscovai, AmericanViking and possibly VinceVance. AmericanViking is about to go on vacation for 3 to 4 weeks and I told him that was okay. Fauscovai wants to know what his duties will be and what this is all about. But then so do I. Do we have the ability to affect how ImgFlip operates or is this more just for the fun of it? ok, who_am_i has been offline for a while but we should get a reply tomorrow. But otherwise, who_am_i might be the only senator needed left and I'd make the announcement on our senate selections as well as the stream they must follow to get news for the senate and be able to vote on bills.

From what we can tell I don't know if the other parties have made an attempt to get senators. But either way, the loss is on them if we don't have 15 senators but we'll make our preselection which should have happened about a week ago but Surly did say that the senate has been hard to fill lately...

1 up, 2y
ok, so I'd guess he'd return on around October 17th (AEDT)/October 16th (EST), so he'd be able to make the final two sittings but that'll mean we'd need an additional senator for our first five sittings.

He is still welcome to join the senate but we need another senator to fill his position and the replacement senator could possibly join permanently as the 11th senator
1 up, 2y
but either way, BritishMormon would need to make the executive decision whether AmericanViking can join the senate because he'd be on leave for a long time and might miss out on everything or the most important issues to cover.
