Hitler's ideas were influenced by Marx but not in the way people think. Hitler's ideas do borrow collectivist tennats of Marxist socialism but Hitler actually wanted to create an antithesis of Marxism. Marxism calls for radical change while Nazi Germany and other Fascist regimes are radical in a sense that adheres to tradition. Marxism promotes deconstructing the family unit while Fascism promotes keeping the traditional family unit to an extreme. Under Hitler's Germany, people basically were not allowed to have any kind of relationship that wasn't a traditional family unit, no sexual liberation, no women's rights and no LGBT rights. The economic functions are also different than Marxism. Marxism calls for capitalism to be overthrown, have the means of production be owned and controlled by the workers and eventually have the state wither away. Nazi Germany's economy is what is called "corporatism". Private corporations collaborating with the government but still owned and controlled by the business owners, no intention to have to have the economy worker controlled. Nazi Germany also had privatization of public services more than any capitalist country. Nazi Germany's economy neither resembled Marxism nor free market capitalism.
