Von Mises was smart about economics. Also Thomas Paine and Adam Smith.

I also like Frederick Hayek, Milton Friedman, Thomas Sowell, Frederic Bastiat. I haven't read all of their books but I have read a whole lot of quotes from (and have seen videos of Friedman and Sowell) from them. Although I have been told that there are some minor differences what some of them say but the over all picture I have gotten from them is how the free market is vastly superior to any thing else mankind has ever came up with and how Marx is the polar opposite.

The left likes to call Marxism "progressive" but as any one can easily see if they just opened their eyes, every time Marxism has been tried and retried and retried, it has always been oppressive.

Free the market and you free the people. Free the people and you free the market. The free market empowers the "little guy" to become one of the big guys.

Toxic narcissists HATE the free market because the HATE people being free to determine how they will live their life.

All great choices. I have read many of these people and helped me think what I do no. A real good book is The Five Thousand Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen. This really made me think and why I am the way I am.

I have that book and I have read it. It's been awhile, I should probably read it again.

It's an excellent book to teach people who Americans are and what America was founded on.

Cleon Skousen's nephew (I think), Mark Skousen, has written a few books. The one that I read is The Big Three in Economics. The big 3 are Adam Smith, Karl Marx and John Maynard Keynes. Mark Skousen is a libertarian so you can pretty much guess the 2 he dislikes and disproves.

Practically every member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints over the age of probably 50, knows who Cleon Skousen is. He written a few books about the LDS Church and he was highly revered as an LDS scholar.
