I have been having an ongoing discussion with a friend of mine about freedom of speech in the modern age. In the past (going back to 1A) the freedom of speech was just that: the ability to SPEAK without (certain) limits. For instance on a street corner, in a tavern, or at a rally. Moving forward, this freedom applied to the print media, then radio, TV and so on until we are here in the modern day with the internet. Each step "forward" allowed for a message to be delivered faster and to a broader audience. Truth or lie, fact or fiction is now available in a second to audience of millions who, in turn, can spread the same message to more and more people, and so on. Where do we draw the line? is ANYTHING allowed to be spread/said? This is how we got legions of idiots following "Q" and flat earth conventions with attendance numbers that challenge major sport events. They have been programmed to believe their OPINION can't be wrong. It's absurd.
We are devolving into a society of entitled, self righteous toddlers with guns.
Along parallel lines, see "IDIOCRACY" for other similarities.
