What are you talking about? the dislike button is there, it just doesn't tell you how many dislikes there are.

So essentially it serves no function anymore. For all intents and purposes, it isn’t there.

Except the creator can see the like and dislike ratio in YouTube Studio. So yes, it still there and serves a purpose on the creator's end.

But I used it to tell whether or not the video was worth watching based on the amount of dislikes compared to the amount of likes and I cant do that anymore which means I waste time watching videos that are crap because i can't tell if a video is any good

You even thought about looking at the comments? Those tell you more about the video than the like to dislike ratio.
