The United States of America is a Judeo-Christian based country, which basically means, you can have any religion you want, in America. But Our Laws are based on the 10 commandments, and a few other historical documents. You would know these things if the american school system taught real american history and civics anymore...

Gee, it's like the same thing with atheism. It's a legal religion in the US and its followers are doing the same thing they accuse Christians of doing - ramming their religion down other people's throats.

It's not other Christians or even other religions that get 'cease and desist' court orders to force Christians to stop praying in school or have things like a Nativity Scene removed from the public square. All of it can be traced straight to atheism which again is a legal religion in the US.

"Gee, it's like the same thing with atheism. It's a legal religion in the US and its followers are doing the same thing they accuse Christians of doing - ramming their religion down other people's throats"

You're confusing something being classified as a religion for legal reasons with something actually being a religion. Also, it wasn't atheism that was said to be a religion for legal reasons, but secular humanism.

"It's not other Christians or even other religions that get 'cease and desist' court orders to force Christians to stop praying in school or have things like a Nativity Scene removed from the public square"

Wrong again. There have been Christian groups who have filed lawsuits to prevent other Christian groups from trying to use the government to endorse religion. The group Americans United for Separation of Church and State was founded by a Christian. And it was a Christian group that brought a lawsuit to prohibit the forced reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools.

"All of it can be traced straight to atheism"

No, it can't all be traced to atheism

Atheism is not a religion, but atheist indoctrination certainly exists.
And like, isn't getting rid of a nativity scene after complaints, like, democratic in some shape or form? The people wanted it gone. It's gone. You dont oppose that, right?
I realize and acknowledge that secularism has been a tool of oppression, and i oppose anti-theism, but please stop with the christian victimhood.

Just going by what SCOTUS ruled. Funny how trying to circumvent the Constitution(meaning that thing about Congress making no law for or against religion) would come back to bite the atheists and God haters in the behind.

“Freedom of religion
means freedom from religion
as well.”

That’s not true.

Yes it is. People are free to practice their religion as they want in this country, and they are free to practice no religion at all. If you think the first amendment doesn't protect non-religious people then you're just flat out wrong

Yes it is.

the ten commandments mention freedom of religion. You can have the freedom of your religion, but I cant be free FROM your religion? Not fair.
0 ups, 2y
Not what I commented on... my point was a lot of the law originally came from religion...
