The opposite of Planned Parenthood is nothing other than forced parenthood. And it’s sickening.

Even though the horrors of forced pregnancy affect the woman (or girl) much more, we as a society have to think of the issue as a two-person issue and both talk about the men/ boys' responsibility and role.

Hate to say it, but we live in a society where a sense of responsibility seems arcane.

“Responsibility.”

Unless these “pro-life” laws start including the forehead-smackingly common-sense exceptions of rape, incest, underage, and medical emergency, it makes no sense to bring morality into the equation.

Wanna talk about the 30-year-old mother who already has 2 children, a decent job, and a support husband, but still feels like she can’t afford a 3rd kiddo at the moment?

Great, we can talk about her, but not until we protect the 10- and 14-year-olds.

Responsibility, in those cases, would still be those responsible, not the victim.
A victim of rape is not responsible for getting raped, not even when we gloss it under the euphemism of incest because it was cousin daddy who perpetrated said rape after they were playing around in the barn.

The so-called pro-lifers don't care about details and outcomes, not most of them anyways.

And the thirty (or forty) year old mother who was using birth control (that may have failed) has been acting responsible . . . why don't we keep treating her as a responsible adult who gets to make her own decisions.

The 10 year olds and the rape victims are the most heart-rending examples of the cruelty of these laws, but adult women who are being told that they can no longer control their own bodies, even if they've been doing everything right, should still be front and center in our resistance to abortion bans. And men who support these restrictive laws had better well not be having any potentially fertile sex with women.

I agree, the worst examples drive the point home, but everyone should have the right to choose, regardless of their situation. State-forced pregnancy and birth is never okay.
