I didn't realize this was a LoZ-related post and I was mildly concerned.

This is a panic blood moon. It occasionally happens if something has gone wrong internally. The blood moon will reset everything to correct the error.

It resurrects any dead monsters aside from the bosses. If you wish to prevent it, go to a shrine and stay there until after midnight. However, if you do this, it will happen the next night and so on.
