This story was from a Salon piece on June 23, 2021. It was already debunked last year. LINCOLN PROJECT’s Rick Wilson just shared it a few days ago, more than a year later. As a result, Twitter was forced to add a fact check on the post as it circulated the platform saying it was debunked. Even Politifact said this was false.

Florida bill HB 233 signed by Governor Ron DeSantis does require colleges in the state to conduct annual “intellectual freedom and viewpoint diversity” surveys. However, the Governor’s office says responses will be anonymous, voluntary, and no personal information would be collected. The text of the bill itself does not include this disclaimer.
