Star Trek: Discovery has become the most hated of all of the Star Treks because it is Star Trek in name only and leans a tad too dystopian plus - and this is a BIG PLUS - they totally mucked up the Klingons, leaving them off S3 entirely hoping everyone will forget why they were sending them hate mail.
I've never watched the show nor payed for that channel and the rest of their in-name-only Star Trek crap (not even Picard, also missing the point of what Star Trek was), but I've been looking up the show out of curiousity with what the deal was with the Klingons.
Star Trek has been dealing with LGBT stuff for years, nay, decades, before: Beverly's affair with the Trill, Riker and that genderless species incognito woman throwback he fell in love with, Jadzia Dax with the 'first F/F kiss' as well as her/his multiple gender combos with over 500 years of different hosts for Dax.. heck, who on Earth doesn't know about the fanbase practically demanding a Captian Sulu Trek, not to mention John Cho's Sulu with his husband in Star Trek Beyond... Sulu templates, most leaning towards Takei's IRL sexual orientation in a fun way, are among the most popular and oft used ones here.
Ideology? It's a Sci Fi show about species all over the galaxy. Not all of them are Ozzy and Harriet. Don't like it, stop paying for the channel, DONE. Show sucks anyways, and Strange New Worlds will no doubt find a way to kill it further. They once showed an episode of that new cartoon on a regular cable channel, I didnn't even make through 10 mins, I was gonna hurl. It's like it was trying its darndest to skewer Trek, and gosh was it ever succeeding,,,
