The same type of people that threatened to leave the newly formed US because they wanted to keep slavery going are the same type of people today who threaten even more division and violence if Roe v Wade got overturned.

That is off in so many ways, staring with the Civil War being almost a decade shy of a century after the founding of the USA going onto Conservative Protestants wanting to keep slaves because the Bible so 'ordained' it vs women who had no rights till the next century after that want to have abortions because they call for dominion over their own bodies even at the expense of their own unborn babies. A look at a map might further illuminate the deliberate error in your statement.

Read some actual history. When states were signing up to become part of the new US, some threatened to not do it if slavery was gotten rid. A compromise had to be made which ended up being the black eye known as the 3/5 clause.

You really should.

The issue was the slave TRADE, not slavery. Most of the Framers owned slaves. Jefferson had 100, Washington had HUNDREDS.
3/5s was more than about the slave TRADE.

You should know to look things up first, being that you're already well versed in getting corrected by me.
