As for the rest, no doubt amongst the genetic material removed from the stream by mothers who couldn't be arsed with kids they don't want are those who shall bypass the detritus that is the children raised by parents who wanted them and loved them and had the means as well as the will to provide for an optimal future for them...

“Pro-life” sounds good in the pews but it’s totally removed from how people live their lives. This is exactly like the Prohibition era, and ironically, exactly 100 years later. Predict the right-wing Christofascist fever over this will break after 10-15 years when the human costs of the policy of forcing birth, and prosecuting those who refuse to, become too glaring to ignore. (And, you know, when they start losing elections over it.)

SCOTUS handed the Democrats an enormous gift. Might not be realized as soon as this November, but it will. Americans don’t like being told what to do with their bodies. Our country’s latent libertarian antibodies will kick in and peel at least some of those Don’t-Tread-On-Me folks away from the MAGA tent.
