This one sparked quite the reaction in politics!

Moral of the Story: Resistance is effective. Even the threat of resistance is effective. Don’t discount it. Our fight for rights isn’t over — it never was.

They need to do less ranching it seems

These guys didn’t wait.

Too long of a wait. A strike would be significantly more effective.

But both would be most effective.

Many of our country’s most durable labor laws, civil rights laws, gender equality laws, and federal holidays came out of movements that didn’t take “no” for an answer.

Popular memory of such movements has been sanitized to an extent, but they were violent.

Or, perhaps better to say, these movements had violent wings and non-violent wings.

And most of the violence was directed AT the movements. Strikes, in and of themselves, are not violent. Civil disobedience, which we currently need a billion tons of, is nonviolent.
