its a constitutional right to own firearms in this country. yet the left opposes guns. we have religious freedom in this country. yet its the left that insists everyone is required to take the vaccine. (some religions dont allow vaccines). in this country we have freedom of speech but its the left censoring everything they disagree with on social media. none of that sounds very constitutional, now does it? jan 6th was not an insurrection.

A right to bear arms, yes. But by whom? When? And where?

Obviously the Second Amendment implies *some* reasonable restrictions, per its “well-regulated militia” clause, unless you believe our Founders intended for clinically insane maniacs to have an absolute right to drive tanks through the crowded streets of lower Manhattan.

Even Ronald Reagan, arch-conservative of his time, looked down upon assault weapons. As did Barry Goldwater and many other Republicans.

The explosion of “gun culture” interest in more, more, more firepower is something that would have been unrecognizable to our grandparents. They recognized that rights came with responsibilities, as did our Founders; our own generation, not so much.
