So according to Gohmert Pyle, there were no mass shootings before the 1960s? I seem to recall there being a number of mass shootings during Prohibition, and even more mass killings in the 1800s against Native Americans. But I guess he doesn't remember those because they don't matter to him.

Most liberals think banning guns will prevent gun violence. However making gun control legislations does not stop gun violence or access to guns, Mr. Phillip Luty proved anyone has access to firearms by making the 9mm luty from spare parts in a house garage, as well as bullets from scratch. Criminals also don't follow laws, so why would a criminal listen to "common sense" gun control legislations. "If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore what he must be taught to fear is his victim" (Jeff Cooper). Criminals don't fear being prosecuted, otherwise they would not be criminals at all. In fact when the criminal opens fire on innocent people a law isn't going to stop them, but a well placed bullet will. On December 29 in 2019 a criminal attempted to shoot a church congregation in Texas. "When a man pulled a shotgun out from under a long coat and started shooting into a church congregation near Fort Worth, Texas, last winter, Jack Wilson didn't hesitate. Within seconds, the volunteer security guard unholstered his weapon and returned fire. With one shot, Wilson killed the 43-year-old gunman and then kicked the shotgun away. Keith Thomas Kinnunen had already shot two congregants, who died. But there were more than 250 people in the West Freeway Church of Christ that day, on Dec. 29, and many credit Wilson for saving many more lives"(https://www.npr.org/2020/09/29/918185532/grand-jury-declines-to-indict-church-security-guard-who-killed-gunman-in-texas). Many more examples of foiled attempted shootings have similar stories, a trained civilian with a firearm stops the criminal shortly after the criminal starts firing. Gun laws won't stop gun violence and mass shootings or access to firearms. Only a trained civilian with a firearm can stop criminals immediately and prevent further violence.

Hand grenades are ordnance rounds, not firearms but still fall under the second amendment. If those are your preferred armaments for defending yourself I see no problem with it. The problem comes when you don't use them to defend yourself.

Yes because anyone will go to the trouble instead of walking into a gun store and buying one.
1 up, 2y
Actually yes they will got to the trouble of making one, According to the U.S. Department of Justice "Fewer than 1 in 50 (less than 2%) of all prisoners had obtained a firearm from a retail source and possessed, carried, or used it during the offense for which they were imprisoned"(U.S. Department of Justice). They also said "Among these, more than half (56%) had either stolen it (6%), found it at the scene of the crime (7%), or obtained it off the street or from the underground market (43%)..."(U.S. Department of Justice). One cannot simply go into a gun store and buy a gun, it is not that simple. Title 18, United States Code 922 prevents this and has. It says "It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person... (1)is under indictment for, or has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year; (2)is a fugitive from justice; (3)is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 802)); (4)has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution; "(5)who, being an alien—(A)is illegally or unlawfully in the United States; or (B)except as provided in subsection (y)(2), has been admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa (as that term is defined in section 101(a)(26) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(26))); (6)who [2] has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;(7)who, having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced his citizenship..." (Title 18 United States Code 922). There are more restrictions listed in that law but I can only use so many words in an imgflip comment. It is far more simpler for a criminal to make a gun or buy it illegally from underground markets than it is to buy one legally.

That is a case of bad parenting, The children were unsupervised and most likely not taught about gun safety. based on the account of the child he was not taught firearm safety, as he broke almost all six of the rules of firearm safety; (1) treat every guns if it is loaded. (2) keep the gun pointed in the safest direction possible. Never point the gun at something you are not willing to destroy. (3) keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. (4) know your target, it's surroundings and beyond. (5) know how to properly operate your gun. (6) store your gun safely and Securely to prevent unauthorized use. Additionally the parent would be found with a felony , "[they] may be guilty of a misdemeanor or a felony if [they] keep a loaded firearm within any premises that are under [their] custody or control and a child under 18 years of age obtains and uses it, resulting in injury or death, or carries it to a public place, unless [they] stored the firearm in a locked container or locked the firearm with a locking device to temporarily keep it from functioning"(https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/tips). In most states it is required by law to keep firearms locked away, and keep them unloaded. The parent in this situation (rather the lack there of) caused this situation to happen. They did not teach their children firearm safety or keep the gun locked away safely.

Those are not excuses it is the parents job to teach a child what is right and what is wrong. The parents failed to do so in that situation.

In the first article provided it says "The sheriff said Allen appeared to be high on drugs and deputies had dealt with him in the past, but investigators aren't sure why he started shooting at cars Saturday" As with any other tool, drugs and tools don't mix. This could have happened and does happen with any other tool such as a hammer or a vehicle. He also had prior felonies meaning he could not legally by a gun according to title 18 United States Code 922 "It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person... is under indictment for, or has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year" (Title 18, United States Code 922). How he obtained a gun is questionable as no store could legally sell them to him.

In the second article this again could happen with any tool. Do not use tools when feeling extreme emotions as emotions can blind logic.

As for the third article the one article provided does not provide enough evidence.

The fourth article also does not provide enough evidence, as information about Brandon Keith Ned has not been released.

In the fifth article the same amount of violence that happened to the grandmother and child could be caused with a knife or any other tool.

"Easy" access to guns are not the problem. Because guns are not easily accessible, except through making them. The government has made sure of this with title 18 and 4473 forms. In addition each of those tragedies could have occured with any other tool. In fact the United Nations 2019 "Study of Global Homicides supports this. "In North America, firearm deaths were responsible for roughly 76% of all homicides, with knife-related homicides accounting for less than 20%. However, the numbers are reversed in Europe, where guns account for barely 20% of homicides but knives are used nearly 40% of the time"(https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/stabbing-deaths-by-country).

Did you read all of my comment or only part of it, because I addressed your comment already. But here is another statistic. The amount of guns has almost nothing to do with overall violence." March 2021, there were around 41,000 (selected) offences involving a knife or
sharp instrument in England and Wales (excluding Greater Manchester Police
Force)" (https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn04304/) England (0.0344 guns per person) has less guns per person than the U.S. (12.05 guns per person). When firearms are out of the equation, the tool changes to another tool, in England's case a knife.

You know why there have been ZERO deaths by hand grenade?
0 ups, 2y
There has not been zero hand grenades deaths, there have been a few. They are significantly less because they are not necessarily lethal, except when at extreme proximity (less than five meters within detonation). The other reason is because it is impractical to use a grenade in places where there is not concentrated persons or in close quarters which would cause the user to injure themselves. People also tend to exercise more caution around explosives as they are more volatile, than bullets.

Hand grenades are hard to make, hence hard to get. This logic does not apply to firearms as they can easily be created from scrap found anywhere. It would be a fallacy to believe that firearm deaths would lessen just because there are fewer firearms. Similarly to what prohibitionist thought about the banning of alcohol and drunk driving and violence.

You could also compare deaths from IEDs which are simple to make.
