To protect schools and the children therein, add security and secure the doors and windows, create one entrance -guarded. Because even if the 2nd Amendment is revolked, guns will exist as will evil hateful people. Quit value signaling and do something meaningful by supporting local action to protect kids.

They should put large locked steel doors everywhere on all the class rooms etc with a central command post with control of said locks, bars or steel mesh on the windows, towers with armed security guards on the corners of the school, armed guards at all the big steel locked doors and have everyone searched upon entry, sign in sign out for visitors, maybe a 12 foot fence all around the property with barbed wire on top.

By "real issue" you mean guns, you're oversimplifying the solution. And to think a solution can happen with the flip of the switch is ridiculous. Fastest and most effective action is to make schools 'hard targets'. Simultaneously work toward the other elements of 'solutions'... Background checks, mental health, 'red flags' and if you believe it possible, revoke the 2nd Amendment. Of course then the civil war trying to get citizens to give up 300,000,000+ guns that before revocation were owned legally. That should be easy, right?

It is a local problem. We already voted for extra taxes to harden our schools, 3 years ago.
