The first amendment applies to all forms of speech. Social media is part of it, especially today.

The first amendment says that you can't be arrested for anything you say. It says absolutely nil about anyone's obligations to publish what you say for free.

The difference is entirely in your imagination and a misinterpretation of the FCC rules that was spread on Reddit. You can't force a phone company to give you a phone line if you've already abused their terms of service. Nobody is obligated to amplify your speech. You just can't be arrested for what you're trying to say - the fact that nobody cares about what you're saying is nobody's problem to fix but your own.

I'm concerned about our rights to free speech and it being censored. I don't care if it's being censored on a platform I don't use it's still being censored. I have a problem with it being censored in other countries as well, but there isn't much I can do about that.

Except they aren't acting like a platform, they're acting like a publisher. By censoring speech, they've become a publisher. That's the problem. A platform doesn't declare what is to be posted and what isnt, a publisher does.

I'm not a gas guzzler (only use 15-20 gallons every three weeks) but I am pro capitalism and Musk embodies capitalism. And his stance on free speech has me curious, if anything. I don't care about twitter, but it does need a good shaking.

I got a timers for saying "boo hoo," "mUh auTo cAR weckt," simply posting a standard crybaby meme template with no caption, saying "Did you assume my gender?" and after someone telling me THREE times to "go suck" my "gf's bf's dick" FINALLY replying "Why, you interested? It is legal now" while his comments STAYED. I don't see anyone screaming about that on the front page.

I "scream" about this type of thing all the time, eventually getting my memes and comments deleted. I've had the no comment timers slapped on me multiple times. This site never used to do that. They'd actually let us talk.

And even though I wouldn't want anyone banned for their speech, the depiction of a beheaded sitting President (or anyone, for that matter) is despicable. And the fact twitter banned a sitting President and has the power to do so over speech, is very disturbing.

I'm talking about my comments I mentioned that were deleted, that sort. The chorus likes to sing that those that are doing it are leftists. That's what the one that told me to go suck the D three times was saying on his meme - in fact the meme was about one of them that he named specifically and my comments were criticizing the OP's slagging of him. Twitter was and still is a privately owned company. Treasonous Trump was and still is free to say what he wants in public or start his own platform to do so, which he has twice, albeit flopping badly in the process. Alas, censorsing comments isn't something he has displayed a disdain for, deploying such tactics without great difficulty himself.

Barring journalists from WH press briefings and calling for the pulling of Broadcast Licenses by the FCC for news outlets he doesn't like is disturbing. That Twitter allowed him to Tweet that is disturbing.
