I’ll be completely honest, I think mainstream conservatives are really late to the boycott Disney party. They’ve been pushing woke propaganda for years, some examples being The Star Wars sequel trilogy and Captain Marvel. They’re the ones giving wokesters like Brie Larson, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson, Rian Johnson, and Kathleen Kennedy the platforms to spout their corrupt religion, while firing Gina Carano for wrongthink and featuring the Chinese government agency responsible for the Uyghur genocide in the credits for Mulan. It really shouldn’t have had to come down to them supporting child indoctrination for there to be the massive backlash against them that there is now. That being said, welcome to the fight.

First World Problems Meme | I think it was hard to dissociate Woke Disney from Walt Disney | image tagged in memes, first world problems | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
So this the delay - perhaps hoping the corp could find its way back. Sadly not gonna happen.

Yeah, it’s definitely sad to see a company that has provided America with so many happy childhood memories has fallen so far from grace. Hopefully other companies can rise to try and take their place if Disney can’t turn things around. Apparently PragerU got into making kids content and Daily Wire is doing the same. As long as they avoid beating you over the head with a right wing agenda and focus on making a good story first, I think they’ll be wildly successful. Who knows, maybe 60 or so years down the line, American families will be taking their children to Pragerland or Ben Shapiro World while Disney falls to the dustbin of history.

Your point is well taken, OP, and I guess we were asleep at the switch. I think it was really not on the radar as much as it should have been. Having said that, as soon as my husband showed me an article on Disney 'wokeness', I posted the attached meme four days ago.

I think it lands in the zone of 'I never would want to think of my mother cheating on my father'. ...that zone. I mean, it's "Disney" and we grew up with it and our kids did, too. It is really sad as it shows how much we have fallen as a country. We went through the period of labelling Dr. Seuss as BAD (as everything is OPPOSITE in liberals' minds). One of my favorites was Seuss and he extended through our grandkids.

Ok, thinking about my previous perception of Disney, it comes to mind that a lot of the artists are gay. Ok. So, that is fine if they are gay. I don't have a problem with gay people leading their lives. I have no hatred or ill will towards them BUT I DO have a 'big' problem if they are trying to influence CHILDREN. Is that where this all started, OP, or is it this a "Trans" fixation that morphed it into the wokeness (that I totally reject for innocent little minds)? Wondering if you know....?

That’s a really good question you asked at the end, I don’t really know when wokeness all started and a lot of people seem to disagree. I’ve heard it started with the rise of the LGBT movement and I’ve also heard it was a Soviet plan to divide the US that we’re only now seeing. Personally, I believe it all started with Occupy Wall Street, which was at first a truly bipartisan protest against the bailouts the Obama administration gave Wall Street. When the rich saw how united everyone was over class based issues, they pushed wokeness into the zeitgeist, so that we would be divided fighting among ourselves instead of fighting against the rich and corrupt. A great example of that would be all the political figures that have received funding from George Soros that time and time again push leftist agendas. It’s just been snowballing from that point until now we have arrived at the point that teachers want to have conversations with kids about sexuality behind parents’ backs. Now I used to hear a lot of arguments back when gay marriage became legal that it would lead down the slippery slope of legalizing insane things like beastiality or pedophilia, and while I do think comparing gay marriage and pedophilia is utterly ridiculous and a false comparison, I see the Left pushing that Overton window further and further that we’re literally at the point where teachers are grooming kids and they lose their minds when Gigachad Ron DeSantis signs into law a rather milquetoast law stating teachers have to keep parents in the loop. It really shows just how far the Left has come and I’m not sure the US is going to come out of this without some sort of civil conflict or national divorce.

That is a very reasoned evaluation. It is an emotionally charged topic & one that we are not abandoning as our children are non-negotiable assets.

I cancelled them before this became a status symbol issue, back when they started putting those dumb*ss warning at the descriptions of older films like Peter Pan and Dumbo and unfairly pulled that actress from the Mandalorian series. Disney Corp. is nothing but a politically correct punk with its lips glued securely to China's teats.

Perhaps those warnings aren’t a bad idea, that’s how you know you found the good stuff, sorta like when they started putting those Parental Advisory Explicit Content labels on CDs. But all jokes aside, good for you! I feel the exact same way, Disney will not get another cent out of me, except to get DVD copies of the old movies and shows I enjoy for my personal collection. I’ll go take my hard earned money elsewhere and give it to someone who doesn’t hate me or my values.
