I would suggest you read the bill. If you have read it, then you should know that this bill prohibits schools teaching sex and sexual preferences to children under the age of 10 and only teaching appropriate material to children 10 and older.

There is no reason whatsoever that a 6 year old child needs to learn about sex from anyone but their parents. And this bill leaves it to the parents to decide what their child learns at that age.

Children under 10 don't organically go around claiming they're gay or straight or trans. They haven't even hit puberty at this age. It's disgusting what the left is doing to children and what they're trying to force on them at this age.

The left going berserk over this and lying about what this bill is about, only shows the world their true colors.

10 years old is around fifth grade. I'm sure many kids develop crushes on other kids well before fifth grade, so they have some concept of attraction

My daughter is 10 years old and in the 4th grade. She has had a couple of crushes. None of which were sexual. Having feeling for someone or having a crush on someone at 10 doesn't mean they're getting sexual feeling for them. And at 10 I had to sign a paper that allowed her school to teach them BIOLOGICAL issues. Sex Ed but only biological truths. The girls were separated from the boys and they watched a 15 minute video that dealt with biology.

Sex and sexual preferences should never be taught by schools. They should be taught by the parents. And that's the issue conservatives have. It has nothing to do with whether or not we can say "gay" in school.

I had to wait till Health Ed class in HIGH SCHOOL for some superficial discussion in one or two classes and then it was back to regular (non sexual) health stuff! Yeah, I'm old enough to remember when even this Florida bs was unspeakable.

It's not conjecture when I've seen it happen myself. I've seen numerous conservatives portray the Florida bill as protecting children from grooming, when it has nothing to do with that.

The bill prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through 3rd grade and prohibits instruction that is not age appropriate for students and requires school districts to adopt procedures for notifying parents if there is a change in services from the school regarding a child’s mental, emotional or physical health or well-being. The bill builds on the Parents’ Bill of Rights, which was signed into law in Florida last year, and is part of Governor DeSantis’ Year of the Parent focus on protecting parental rights in education.
