The one part you got wrong most farms are controlled by corporations, where even the farmer can't regrow seeds from crops legally unless they have no trademark. Most food grown in fields is for feed to plump up animals, and sweeten drinks. The other crops are turned into filler and tofu, while anything fresh is imported. Plus with everyone moving to America, that once stolen and owned family farmland is slowly being chocked out by mass migration, and bought up by other non citizen countries.

The answer is to deal directly with local small family farms, cut out the middleman. Get your food at about half the cost.
