No.

That was Peter Schiff and true enough, he was wrong.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2022/03/16/ukraine-president-zelenskyy-suit-twitter/7066316001/

Peter Schiff and Adam Schiff are not the same person, nor are they related from what I can tell.

As for why Congress (not just Democrats) are unwilling to to fulfill Zelenskyy's request to create a No-Fly zone over Ukraine, that could be interpreted as an act of war between the US and Russia if we shoot down enemy combatants from Russia. We're unwillingly to escalate and people suspect that's exactly what Putin may want as an excuse to retaliate directly against us.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2022/03/01/no-fly-zone-nato-ukraine/6983545001/

As of this time, Russia has not actually flown into Ukraine airspace... I'm not sure if the drones count as such but there is some inconsistency or discrepancy there but I wouldn't begin to speculate as to why.

Peter? Ok...well there was a mistake on the broadcast I listened to this morning then. Fair enough, just pretend there is another name in place of

Russia has not flown into Ukraine's airspace? What planet are you on? There are videos from citizens showing Russian jets firing missiles into residential areas, one even has a head-on capture of a missile that missed by only a hundred feet or so. Not drones...which fly, so not even sure why you would extricate them from the equation.

The ask for defense is simply a reference to the promises made and signed by the US and others guaranteeing the protection of their country once they turned over their nuclear weapons. Another promise, not delivered on by the US. It's no wonder we have so many enemies. We don't even look after friends.

Furthermore...this meme wasn't about his request, but the remarks by Schifthead and how tone-deaf he and some of his counterparts are.

You gotta verify the date of those videos. Lots of misinformation flying from both sides.

"Russia has not flown into Ukraine's airspace? What planet are you on?"

As I said..."I'm not sure if the drones count as such but there is some inconsistency or discrepancy there but I wouldn't begin to speculate as to why." I may simply be in error but I don't presume. These attacks could easily still be from Russian airspace, it's not exactly out of range. Still, it is likely that I've either misread or are going by old data.

"The ask for defense is simply a reference to the promises made and signed by the US and others guaranteeing the protection of their country once they turned over their nuclear weapons. Another promise, not delivered on by the US. It's no wonder we have so many enemies. We don't even look after friends."

You're referring to the Budapest Memorandum which made no such promises. It only guaranteed that Ukraine would not be invaded or attacked by the US, Russia, or the UK. It was not a binding agreement of protection from the rest of the parties should one of them violate this. Russia has been accused of breaking the Memorandum many times. As well, the US has been previously and baselessly accused of doing so once during the Euromaiden uprising.

When Russia annexed Crimea, it was said to be in violation of the Budapest Memorandum; however Russia did not recognize the preliminary government as the same who signed that treaty. Once the preliminary government relinquished control, Russia ceased any further invasion of Ukraine until this year. After Russia failed to seat or influence a President in Ukraine who was more willing to bend to Putin's will; as well as a defiant elected Parliament that sides with national independence rather than unification with Russia; they started up again. In short, Putin got tired of playing politics.

"Furthermore...this meme wasn't about his request, but the remarks by Schifthead and how tone-deaf he and some of his counterparts are."

The reason why Zelenskyy's request of a no-fly declaration is important is because you don't understand that it's not enforceable without declaring war on Russia. Russia wants us to do that as well as show Ukraine we will not risk nuclear escalation FOR THEM. Zelenskyy appears to not understand this. The error is his.

We are however, continuing to give military weapons despite Russia's threats.

I fail to see how that is tonedeaf?

And since I've already proven your accusatory remarks were not made by Schiff and his counterparts.... Your meme is totally invalid.

You are missing the part where the US and NATO installed the current Ukraine totalitarian government, and shipped missiles into Ukraine after Putin said he'd invade if we did that. Not saying Putin is right for doing this, but saying NATO and the US are stupid.

How did we install the current totalitarian government?

It’s not the first I’ve heard the claim, but I’m coming up short on evidence of this.

Please, enlighten me.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Announced his presidency and was democratically elected by the Ukrainian people in 2018. Assumed office in 2019. What nefarious narrative was I supposed to find that leads to totalitarianism?

Perhaps you meant his predecessor?

Petro Poroshenko. Democratically elected by the Ukrainian people in 2014 and held a single term before his successor Zelenskyy took over in a peaceful transition of power.

Perhaps you meant Arseniy Yatsenyuk who headed the preliminary government when the President fled during the civilian uprising? He was essentially the acting President but quickly instituted an emergency election instead of assuming the role of President, and indeed tried to resign as Prime Minister following the abysmal Yanukovych administration who tried to thwart the will of the people despite overwhelming support to join the EU by Ukraine’s elected parliament.

Oh, I doubt you mean President Viktor Yanukovych, who was forced to resign following protests that escalated into revelation as he tried to install authoritarian legislation to silence the people. The Ukraine parliament officially resigning his position after he fled to Russia after he lost all popularity for his rampant and obvious corruption.

Or did you want to talk about Biden’s Quid Pro Quo where then-President Poroshenko put a known Yanukovych supporter as special council. We, the United States, certainly intervened in that particular case but only to prevent another further destabilization in Ukraine that would allow Putin the excuse to continue to annex the region.

I’m having a hard time figuring out where the corruption was. Please, enlighten me or am I the only one invested in researching this and you think your vague allusions mean anything substantial?

Try this one and step out of your google wonderland: https://miamistandard.news/2022/03/03/george-soros-helped-zelensky-become-president-of-ukraine-through-massive-propaganda-campaign-now-he-backs-puppet-regime-he-installed/

It’s funny how two people can read the same article and not see the same thing? The irony being that George Sorros has nothing to do with Zelenskyy at all.

It speaks of Sorros throwing financial support to foundations which supported the Euromaidens, and similiar investments. As well as Sorros supporting the outing of them-President in 2014, Yanukovych.

It is strange the article does not go more into Igor Kolomoisky, who is a known corrupt oligarch (even by the Biden administration standards) who has been hit with sanctions by Biden’s State Department as early as last year.

The only connection to Sorros that leads directly to Zelenskyy is the supposed friendship between Kolomoisky and Sorros. I find it strange the article didn’t elaborate more on this connection and seems to gloss it over. That is because it made it up! I could not find a single connection between Kolomoisky and Sorros at all.

The article should’ve dumped the hit piece on Sorrors, (not because he doesn’t deserve it but rather because he has nothing to do with Zelenskyy.) focused on Zelenskyy’s connection with Kolomoisky and why he is considered corrupt by the US. But then they wouldn’t have that Sorros clickbait title they so desperately want.

Do you know Kolomoisky’s connection with Zelenskyy? Kolomoisky is the owner of the television media outlet that aired Zelenskyy’s rise to fame TV-Show where he played an unwitting teacher who got launched into the role of President.

That’s about it. While Zelenskyy has remained on good terms with the oligarch (despite his staunch anti-oligarch platform) there is nothing that backs up your claim that the US installed a totalitarian government in US.

I suggest instead of just quick searching articles that you think back up your claims, you actually read them so you know what you’re talking about instead of quoting daft Russian talking point nonsense which is so recycled that you won’t find it so often on regurgitated conservative media because it’s not in our country’s best interests if Russia does indeed take Ukaraine and so you’ll be hard pressed to find that talking point on any mainstream conservative news site.

The truth is, I already gave you why the US is blamed for the supposed “totalitarian” government. It was the Euromaidens. Russia claims we installed them. We didn’t. And that the Euromaidens took over the government after 2014. They didn’t. They ousted President Yatsenyuk in 2014 and restored their original constitution as it was written in early 2000s before Yatsenyuk eroded it.

Biden’s situation was acting ambassador and he represented a bipartisan effort (meaning Republicans supported this) to urge President Poroshenko to fire their head prosecutor in the corruption investigations that started after 2014 to appease the restless people of Ukraine after the Yatsenyuk scandal lead to a violent uprising. Poroshenko’s prosecutor Viktor Shokin had been accused of not being hard on pursuing corruption charges and the US feared another violent uprising. Naturally, we aren’t going to continue a 1 billion dollar investment if the country is just going to collapse back into the Russian Federation under it’s rampant corruption and collusion with the Russian government.

It had nothing to do with Burisma or Hunter.

It had everything to do with preventing Putin’s continued attempts to destabilize Ukraine if not get it to bend to his will.
