How about those third world lithium and heavy metal mines without any EPA or OSHA regulations? All those solar panels and batteries are not benign ecologically.

Yes, yes...much less spillage and carbon involed in truck and sea oil transportation.

But people do live next to railroads that transport the oil that the XL pipeline would move. And there are a lot more rail leaks than pipeline leaks.
