The knee jerk reaction after the George Floyd killing was to legalize or decriminalize everything that blacks do, based on blue state stereotypes and racism. (Law abiding black families would necessarily be victimized by the increase in crime, but nobody in the blue states cares about them because 'they ain't black'!)
That led to all kinds of horrible policy initiatives, such as no-bail laws for anything short of murder cases.
But this shit really mystifies me. In terms of public policy, it elevates ex-cons - as a class of people - over entrepreneurs, solely for the purpose of operating businesses.
Granted, insanity is the de facto, overarching public policy in blue states. But what sense does this make? And won't there be endless litigation by non-ex-cons, i.e. law-abiding people, who are being blatantly discriminated against?!
It's crazy!
