You can meet people anywhere. For example I dated somebody I met in a video poker app for about 3 years.
It just doesn't amount to much unless you take it to real life like the other oldies here said.
I didn't think we were dating until we met in person. Everything up to that was talking about starting to date.
Other times online there was too much distance so it was like having a pen pal. Wouldn't call it dating without an actual meeting.
