No and in fact it seems that the government wants to work people so they can't retire at 62, and enjoy a few years till the grim reaper knocks at their door. I am totally for a society that has a social system, but now more than ever that seems to be slowly slipping away into a dark place. The whole façade of it running out is just another political fear, in which could happen with the fact that rich people don't have to pay into it after making a certain amount of money, which I get that factor of having a pay out limit on social security, but still when you make millions and billions of dollars, you probably have enough money to use in retirement,,, depending on how one rich person spends their money... but still sickening that the retirement age keeps getting bumped up, and the poor worker suffers,,, not only that, not everyone works the same type of job. Someone who spent 58 years at a lower pay grade working in hot, cold or hazardous elements, is not the same as someone who spends 58 years working inside a office or controlled environment. This is one aspect our American social services department fails to address, along with many other issues. It's not a truly fair system, so it pays to have a education, and a good retirement plan, but still that looks like its crap now to. 401k's are not safe bets for employers securing the future of retirement for employees. Pensions use to make more sense, but what is 80 dollars a month going to buy anyone?
