It doesn't force you to have miis and they are probably hidden in a menu like the switch Mii maker is.

It is confirmed you can still have mii faces though. You can notice them at the start of the volleyball game.

It says on the website that the physical copy will come with the keg strap, so yes. You can also buy a digital copy and get the leg strap separately.
