What is the flag in the top right? The green, white, and red one?

Canadian Anti-vaxx flag o some sort.

Well I looked it up, and apparently it's the Canadian equivalent of the Gadsden flag. From the 1820's.

I'm sure you did- everyday, more and more people begin to fight back against the tyranny.

What's your reasoning?

I see that video, it IS a fringe minority.

No, the Republican areas are crazy. In Canada, we are MORE FREE AND FAIR than the US. MORE FREE AND FAIR! You are a crazy conservative wacko.
2 ups, 3y
Ah, yes. Canada, the country where you can be fined for not receiving a certain medical procedure, where you can face severe legal repercussions for not using someone's "preferred pronouns", where the government does pretty much whatever it wants, and don't forget - you got most of your guns taken away. And you let them get taken away. Sad.

Yes I know this is going to make you very triggered, but too bad.

my point is the Sun is a known iffy, at best, source. Canada is a center-left to center-right country, whereas the US is a center-right to right-wing country.
2 ups, 3y
And my point is that far from 90% (your number, by the way) support lockdowns and vaccine mandates. You simply refuse to accept this.

The US is a crazy place, Canada is way less crazy. We are similar in one way: our location.
2 ups, 3y
We are similar in many other aspects, too. I never said we were exactly the same, just that we are similar. For instance one big difference between us is that here in the US, we still have our civil liberties.

California, New York, and other liberal areas might be crazy, but not the rest of the US.

No, I refuse to accept that you call us similar. WE ARE NOT SIMILAR
2 ups, 3y
Well that's your opinion, and I can't change that.

But it's still incorrect.
0 ups, 3y,

That's my reasoning.
2 ups, 3y
Okay, can you explain that? Because both Canadians and Americans are protesting the tyrannical actions of our respective "leaders".
0 ups, 3y,
2 replies
Well, in the US, it's 50-60% who protest the logical actions of governments, whereas in Canada, it's about 5-10%.
4 ups, 3y
"logical actions of governments"
LOL

5-10%.... Well it's quite a bit more than that!

How can you prove there's more than 5-10%? Using better logic than mine?
2 ups, 3y
Sure.

https://torontosun.com/news/national/majority-of-canadians-want-covid-restrictions-lifted-poll

And I read a few other articles, stating that, although a majority of Canadians support vaccine mandates, it is not a 90% majority.

The Sun's audience is right-wing. So if it's less than 90%, then at least it's more than 50% like the US. Therefore, Canada is still different.
2 ups, 3y
Okay, let's use your logic. Anything that you reference from a left-leaning source is also disqualified.

You are trying to deflect. You said that 90% of Canadians supported vaccine mandates, and I showed you that they did not. I only said they are very similar, not exactly the same.

Less than 10% of your news relates to us, whereas like 90% of our news relates to you.
3 ups, 3y
That isn't a good reason.
Try again. Prove I don't know anything about Canada.
2 ups, 3y
And how do you know that vaccinated people also do not support vaccine mandates? It's not a question of whether someone has them or not, it's whether they should be MANDATORY.
2 ups, 3y
To my knowledge, I've only said that to that one guy from australia. Canada and the United States are actually very similar and have a lot of history in common.
Now, I'll ask once again, can you prove that I don't know anything about Canada?
2 ups, 3y
And yes, I see Australia should be capitalized. For some reason my keyboard didn't register my pressing shift.
0 ups, 3y
Besides, Canada and the US are common in history but right now, it's not very common between both.
3 ups, 3y
90% of people you've met..

Figures, as A) you're in a big, left leaning city, but more importantly B) those "people you've met" we're probably either your family or very close friends, who most likely share their political beliefs with you. Not just some average Joe on the street.

Like I said, try again.

So many stupid American's pretending to be Canadian only to be forgotten about a few days later forced to wonder in circles to stubborn with pride to admit they wasted a month of their lives over nothing. Yes they truly did unit us all in laughter and deep deep pitty for the mentally disabled.

Yeah, it is too bad it has come to this, but it has come to this.

You may want to have a look at the OurWorldInData Stringency Index to see our government is not only out of touch with the people but also out of touch with the thinking across much of the rest of the world: https://ourworldindata.org/metrics-explained-covid19-stringency-index

I wonder why we were doing so well up until now? Maybe because we had stricter rules? I don't agree with the truckers, and neither do most Canadians.

No, I believe these are a good level of mandates. And what circle do you know? Literally everyone I know supports them, and 90% of the people I've met. You, my friend, would be at home in America. I see you're a PPC voter.

Nah I just hang around with people like my buddy with bone cancer. His doctors advise not to get vaccinated but the mandates mean he can no longer participate in society.
1 up, 3y,

There are medical exemptions. Also, I'm really sorry for your buddy. Maybe try to get an exemption?
2 ups, 3y
Thanks. There are, but you have to apply event by event (e.g. I need to fly for a life event, rather than I want to have a beer with a friend). The ironic thing is he survived COVID in 2020. Anyhow, the challenge with mandates is the one-size-fits-all issue. Remember this started with the sacrifice of the many will save the few, now it seems to be the opposite.
