My ma used to make this Columbian tuna fish rice dish which had a separate garbanzos in sauce accompaniment of its own. She got it from a cousin of hers when we were kids. Was real good.

Canned, haha. With some tomato sauce and who knows what else because the tuna rice is orangey, as is the chick peas in sauce.

Hm. I might have to try that anyway. Strange fact, while I hate canned tuna I have two daughters who ask me for my tuna casserole on their birthdays each year and it takes the canned, lol

Sadly, my mother has forgotten stuff she used to cook.

There was this leg of with creamy coffee sauce I had asked her years ago for a coffee addict who wanted to know, but she couldn't remember as it had been a while.
I did find some versions listed now, including one under "Swedish," which should be like it as the relative she got that from was of Norwegian background (born here).
I had to stop looking as I was getting hungry.
