Arson happens every day in cities around America. Two White-Racists were convicted of burning down a Police Station in Minneapolis during a BLM Rally. The woman who burned down the Wendy's was angry that her boyfriend was killed by cops in its parking lot, days before. The cop who shot him lost his job and was charged with murder.
This is a tragedy for the owner, employees and customers of Wendy's. It is a tragedy for the cop, who let a simply "roust," escalate into murder. It is a tragedy for his family and friends. It is a tragedy for cops everywhere, who will be suspected of being racist because of the actions of a few. It is a tragedy for the guy who was killed, and his family and friends. It is a tragedy for the woman who started the fire, awaiting her arson trial. It is a tragedy for you. Someone convinced you that using this unequal equation would enrage me and cause me to expose my "hatred," of you.
These are both tragedies. But the death of the American Dream would be worse than the death of one innocent man sleeping in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant.
