WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY 'USABLE'? | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

By Useable, I mean, non inert. Helium is the second most abundant, yes. DeGrasse admits this. But he also says that the reason why it is irrelevant is because it is inert.

bear in mind that Neil's primarily a showman who likes to keep things simple. true, i know of no biomolecules that incorporate a noble gas in their structure, but our biochemistry is hypothetically only a few billion years old. who knows what uses Nature may have found for them elsewhere.

He's not a showman. Ben Shapiro is a showman.

Some of us are "special."

Just to nicpik, Helium is the second most adundent gas in the universe. Stars create it fusing hydrogen. And nitrogen is the largest part of the air we breath. But I understand your point.

Ah. I find it curious that pure water, H2O, is also a universal solvent. But my favorite chemistry fact is we can't live without salt, but it's made of the two deadliest elements to us. This is why I think if there is a God, He(She/It) has a wicked sense of humor and that makes strangely happy.

I'm agnostic myself.. But we're also one molecule of Sulfur and two molecules of Oxygen from being made of Sulfuric Acid.... So...

Things like this are repeated in Science far more than most people are aware. If we were to explain everything that is extremely close to being deadly to God or a divine being... Well.. It gives me a headache/nausea. Because there's a "Habitation Zone" where planets are ripe for us to be alive.

If Life took 10% longer to evolve, life wouldn't exist on Earth as it'd be superheated by the expansion of our sun... It happens more often than you know.

I prefer Gnosticism. Faith is between the individual and the Creator and isn't any church's business, but that aside, I love science. I'll watch any show on the universe, physics, or new discoveries. Also a big fan of history.

First I've heard of it "Gnostic" that's closer to what I am.
That said, I am super critical of Religious Establishment.

Yep. When the time comes, the human race will just disappear while the universe keeps going about its business. And never mind colonization, that won't be happening.
0 ups, 3y
That would be the only thing that could save the human species. Getting the f**k off this planet but?? Interstellar travel will be a pipe dream for a loooooooong time. I believe the 2 main obstacles are a power source and metals that can withstand the g forces involved

Actually this comes from a pre supposistion that an alien life form or forms would need them to have evolved

And that is human arrogance to believe they would

arrogant:
having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities.

It is not arrogant to acknowledge that Carbon is the most fertile chemical in the periodic chart, or that Hydrogen and Oxygen are among the most common substances in the Milky Way Galaxy and perceivably, the universe.

Arrogance would be to say that contrary to evidence which suggests otherwise (which there isn't) that ours is a superior race *because* it is made of these elements.

This meme states clearly that we are not special. If someone were to be made of helium (which as far as we can tell can't do much) *that* would be special.

We tried. But they yelled back "MUH FREEDOMS! I CANT BE INCONVENIENCED."
Now they've got a "Save America" slogan...
