Liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, once you go back into history, before the Progressive era, you will find that what we consider racist today applied to everyone back then. Some were worse than others. There were many great people on the right and the left prior to the Progressive era, who did amazing things for this country, but were flat out racists.

However, everything that was done that benefited whites is fully applicable to all races. Democrats didn't make that happen. Democrats weren't even pushing the issue until LBJ was president.

There was no political shift in the 50's and 60's, there was just a tactic shift on the part of the Democrats. Where the political shift happened was more about labels than anything else. That happened in the Progressive era when the Progressives wanted to be called the more favorable term, liberal. They wanted everyone to think that their oppressive Marxism was being done in the name of liberty. And the succeeded in hijacking that name and called us, the true classical liberals, conservatives. Now you guys are doing everything you can to convince yourselves that we are Nazis and fascists. We never were. That was always you guys. That is who the early 20th century Progressives were and they did not hide that fact until the 30's.

The first civil rights act was passed by a Republican majority in 1866. Democrat President Andrew Johnson vetoed it. Later Congress revised the bill and passed that. Johnson, once again vetoed it but Congress got a 2/3rds majority and overrode the veto.

The next civil rights act was in 1957. It was supported by both partied in the House although Democrat Senator Strom Thurman gave one of the longest single person filibusters against the act. It was signed into law by Republican Dwight Eisenhower.

There were two Democrat presidents who were not Progressives in the 20th century. Harry Truman and JFK. Truman wasn't a great president but he had integrity. Kennedy was a scumbag in his private life but he understood economics. In some respects he was like Trump only I think Kennedy was better on economics. The rest of the Democrat presidents of the 20th were absolute scum.

We are living in a time when many Americans are living in fear. And like last time, most of them are Democrats. All other countries have had some type of atrocity in their history or currently. Some much worse than slavery. Nearly all of them have had slavery in one form or another. Nearly all of them have committed genocide. Many of those countries still practice both.

But to the left the worst of the worst is the United States. Why? Slavery and genocide is awful, and I am not trying to justify it, but why is the US the worst. And not just for those things but everything. The left thinks we are the worse polluter in the world while completely ignoring China and Africa.

What I am talking about is the left's hatred of this country. This country was founded on freedom. We were the freest country to have ever existed. We are less free now (and have been since before I was born) than the colonists were before the American Revolution.

Appalachians are predominantly 'White.' Food Stamps and other assistance in the War on Poverty was a response to THEIR poverty, and Appalachian Democrats thus became a thing until the past decade.
Many 'Blacks' switched to the Democrat Party when LBJ pushed through the Civil Rights Act in 1964 the Voting Rights Act in 1965 despite heavy opposition from southern block of the Republican Party.
