I have real world experience. I’m trying to balance school with work and trying to pay my bills at the same time. I’ve been pushed through the criminal system and have to struggle even worse because of that, and I deal with significant mental health problems, so it’s difficult for me not to just end things myself.
Communism “failing” is not a matter of human nature, it’s the nature of authoritarianism, a lesson the Marxist-Leninists never have learned from. Even scientists unaffiliated with communism agree that the tendency in nature is not competition and domination over one another, it is the avoidance of competition and the survival of species is determined by their ability to organize and defend and provide for one another. That is communism at its core. This was successful for many early societies, and quite literally kept people from starving. We see decentralized communism working in Chiapas and Rojava and in many anarchist communities today, too.
I don’t believe capitalism can ever work for a majority of people, because it necessarily disenfranchises a majority of the population where it is imposed, and keeps them subjected to the will of the propertied class. Whenever capitalism becomes “more fair”, the capitalists go on the attack and cry for a more “free market” system, and the result is more inequality and greater poverty among the workers. This system needs to end for good. Class rule should be abolished so everyone can live a dignified and comfortable livelihood, and live and choose on their own accord.
