If the workers don’t own the means and outputs of production then no.

What do you do about the people who chose to work 5 hours and make everyone unequal?

If everyone receives according to their need, regardless of their labor input, we are equal.

And that works just as long as you throw everyone that doesn't work enough into the gulag. We have seen this before. Are you like some sort of 16 year old kid who just learned about communism, but hasn't got to learning about history yet?

I was familiar with the western propaganda about communism, and how the United States government and the plethora of D.C. think tanks all agree communism is bad and must be destroyed. I decided to investigate beyond these stubborn superstitions and learned about different communist ideologies, the history of the communist movement, including the history of the USSR and its internal contradictions and opposition to genuine worker’s movements. My research led me to anarchist communism.

I’m 22 years old, a member of the Industrial Workers of the World and I volunteer for the prisoner’s union. Communism is the reason humans have survived. Capitalism is the reason humans live in servitude and are widely poor while a few enjoy all the good things in life.

I was a revolutionary communist in my youth as well. I'm sure once you get some more real world experience you will see that human nature cannot be changed and therefore communism is impossible.
I am not a great defender of our current system, it sure could be a lot more fair, but I think it would be much better for everyone to try and make the "capitalism that has never really been tried" than the "communism that has never been tried".

I have real world experience. I’m trying to balance school with work and trying to pay my bills at the same time. I’ve been pushed through the criminal system and have to struggle even worse because of that, and I deal with significant mental health problems, so it’s difficult for me not to just end things myself.

Communism “failing” is not a matter of human nature, it’s the nature of authoritarianism, a lesson the Marxist-Leninists never have learned from. Even scientists unaffiliated with communism agree that the tendency in nature is not competition and domination over one another, it is the avoidance of competition and the survival of species is determined by their ability to organize and defend and provide for one another. That is communism at its core. This was successful for many early societies, and quite literally kept people from starving. We see decentralized communism working in Chiapas and Rojava and in many anarchist communities today, too.

I don’t believe capitalism can ever work for a majority of people, because it necessarily disenfranchises a majority of the population where it is imposed, and keeps them subjected to the will of the propertied class. Whenever capitalism becomes “more fair”, the capitalists go on the attack and cry for a more “free market” system, and the result is more inequality and greater poverty among the workers. This system needs to end for good. Class rule should be abolished so everyone can live a dignified and comfortable livelihood, and live and choose on their own accord.

I’ve had a couple aborted suicide attempts, been to inpatient thrice, done numerous outpatient programs for depression and anxiety and actively self-harm on a regular basis. Diagnosed with OCD and BPD.

I’m an anarchist, there would be no parties, just the decentralized voluntary associations of the working class.

No that’s how many innocent people evil communism has killed.
