Much like the democrats who set bombs off years before, or the anti Trump riot the past year before, or the blm riots months before?

Psssst . . . you forgot an entire year's worth of hate-filled leftists rioting, looting, burning, mugging, and murdering. That's a weird thing to overlook.

WTF are you talking about "won't be repeated"
What do you think the attack on the World Trade Center was...another sneak attack on the US.
The Jan 6 riot was just that...a RIOT stemming forma protest that got out of control and egged on by FBI agents and other provacateurs.

I may be splitting hairs here but 9/11 wasn't a surprise attack by a Nation State. However, you can cite numerous other terrorist attacks of a less severe/widespread nature.

The point of "won't be repeated" is to let history teach us that which we cannot allow to happen again.

Yet, it does…

And of course I know what the point of “won’t be repeated “ is,Skeezix…yet, we have numerous cases of genocide even though the phrase “Lest We Forget” was the term we used for decades after the fall of the Nazi’s.
Now we have Nazi’s ruining our country.

Well said. I'm wondering if we might disagree how to identify a Nazi. I could be reading into things. Nonetheless your point is very well taken.
Vigilance while valuable isn't 100% effective.

It is quite easy to spot a Nazi.

“Lest We Forget” really is a nice one, wish we used it here.
70th, 75th anniversaries of WWII went by with a mention on the evening news, but otherwise unnoticed.
Commonwealth countries print stamps and mint coins every year like it happened only yesterday,,,

Stop watching “local” news, the alphabet-soup channels National news, and listening to “All Things Considered”.
Both the 70th and 75th anniversaries were observed by the news that I watch and listen to.

But, then again, I live in Texas, where we still love our freedoms and remember our history.

Yous put out coins with it nearly every year. In Australia, it's as if the war just ended last month.

Best image I could find of the coin. First time I ever heard the phrase.
The circulation coin set that year (which I also bought) also had a war remembrance theme. Didn't know it at the time (as I has just resumed coin collecting the year prior after a long pause), this was an ongoing theme in countries whose money's obverse is graced with QEII.

NEWS FLASH: Like Kipling and "Lest we forget," "Flanders Field" and poppies and all that is just something no one here in the USA is familiar with - and that would even include that renowned center of worldliness, Texas.

No one says it round these parts for a reason. Even if you had come across it (like I did), you would know better than to say "even though the phrase “Lest We Forget” was the term we used for decades after the fall of the Nazi’s." because it isn't nor wasn't.

btw, When copypasting, it is proper to use quotes and site the source.

I collect coins.
First heard the term in 2005, as noted in that meme.

"Lest we forget" is a phrase commonly used in war remembrance services and commemorative occasions in English speaking countries. Before the term was used in reference to soldiers and war, it was first used in an 1897 poem written by Rudyard Kipling called "Recessional".
I first read it when I was around 8 or 9 on an album cover "Sounds of the Third Reich"
