By your statement and leftist logic... Everyone should wear a bullet proof vest. Every single person should have a bullet proof vest - just in case a stray bullet comes at them.

Everyone should also use Birth Control. Even if you're sexually inactive, you should use it. In fact - if you're not wearing your condom, my condom won't work - so wear your condom to help me keep from impregnating a woman (or man).

That's the absurdity levels we have with the vaccines. My brother was anti-vaxx. His whole family got COVID. Everyone there (2 adults 2 kids, 2 female and 2 male) did the same thing. They stayed in bed, ate Chicken Noodle Soup, greasy cheeseburgers, and felt fine in 3-4 days... Just like they do with the flu.

My mom - fully vaccinated, got COVID - had a two day extra down time compared to my brother. My other brothers family are all vaxxed fully. Both his wife and daughter caught COVID - took 5 days to recover.

By my viewable situations - you get better quicker when not vaxxed, if you get better. But you get better more consistently (albeit it takes longer) with a vaccine.

The Vaccine keeps you protected when you go out/when someone else you live with has symptoms. And have you considered that because your mom is older, maybe she's gotten a bit weaker and couldn't fight it as well?

Then explain her age my age and my nieces age with same setup. That's three generations of ages all healthy. At my one bros house - two ppl my age and two ppl 14-17. All had same down time unvaxxed.

But for those poor 1/1200 ppl... Covid takes them out.
