The real difference is that sane people do the research so they don't come off as dumb or worse insulting toward the different culture they're trying to emulate. The Left on the other hand jumps in head first and end up making asses of themselves. Cases in point when those idiot white dems. that wore 'African Clothing' for Floyd while thinking all people Africa wore such clothes. Not only were they wrong about 'everyone wears these clothes'(only one African tribe did) they wore the wrong clothes for the situation.

Then there were/are the Twitheads on Twitter that changed anime fanart(illegally mind you) drawn by Japanese or Korean artist because according to the Twitheads, 'the character's skin tone wasn't the same shade'.
