I think she's probably the main offender. Plenty of co-conspirators in the DNC though. Once they saw that Bernie was making headway in the primaries, they cooked up a victory in the South Carolina primary for Dementia Joe, then forced all his competitors to drop out. It took Pocahontas a little while to come on board, but even she caved. Look at mayor Pete as an example. It seems fairly obvious in hindsight that they told him to drop out in exchange for a cabinet position that he's not really qualified to hold. I guess that's how politics work, which is one reason why I don't like politicians.

Even the polling data had Biden consistently on top until February to March. But before the pandemic, polls put Biden way ahead of Bernie. And Bernie willingly dropped out.

At the time. Look at how they were doing at the time. Before South Carolina, Joe was doing *almost* as poorly as Kommie Harris was.

Harris isn't even listed on there. If anything, Biden ranked 5th in New Hampshire and 2nd in Nevada... But Republicans don't just decide candidates based on the first three weeks of a primary but how they perform in the primaries overall - not unlike the Democrats did here.

The fact of the matter is, Biden came out on top in 21 states to Bernie's 8 before Bernie decided to drop out. It would make no sense to back Bernie.

So yes, I could / should have worded my statement about her to indicate as such, but the point is that she had done so poorly that she had to drop out. I'd have to check on your claim about 21 vs 8. However, I think it's pretty clear that the DNC called the shots for Joe, right after cooking up a victory for him in SC. Why else would all the other candidates who were doing well enough to continue, choose not to? Joe was floundering before SC.

Because Trump being voted out was the primary goal. The Democrats needed to unite under one candidate. Even the Republican in-fighting of 2015, which was even more vicious than the Democrat in-fighting in 2019, ended once it became obvious that the primaries reflected Trump as the frontrunner. They had no choice.

Polls? Please don't bring up polls after the last two elections!

And regarding your point about overall... Bernie started strong, then faded once the DNC power brokers decided that a small state socialist had no chance of beating Trump. If they'd only known about covid when they made that decision...
