1. Being incontinent and having a colostomy are not the same thing.
2. Reagan never had a colostomy. (at least not that I could find during my quick research on the interweb, although I did find a NY Times article that said he did not have one:

Back then not only were all respectful, at one point they even declared that colon cancer was the most common form of cancer!
Same with his Alzheimer's, while it was rather apparent and well known, criticism (in a deriding way) of it (by the media) was minimal, especially compared to today.

Yeah, that was the point I was getting at. It was well known that he was old, and had as many things going wrong with his body as is normal for a man at that age, but it didn't keep him from being respected. Whereas . . .

I'm not trying to be rude to you, but I would suggest a bit of research in advance of posting, could have prevented me from replying the way I did. It took about three minutes of deep diving on the interweb to find the article. Still, the tone of my reply is on me. I don't blame others for what I do or say.

I didn't think to research it because it was commonly accepted as a given back in the day. But he probably wasn't MORE continent than Joe Biden, so I'll probably keep replying to "poopy Biden" memes with the Gipper.
