CRT didn't make me hate white people.

why are they worried?

So, you hate a whole group of people just because of the color of their skin? Remember, white people include white democrats and the Nordics who discovered America before Columbus ;) If you're going to give some BS about hating us because of our answers, I believe that "men shall be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgressions," so nothing you say will convince me that my white ancestors, who were persecuted by the US government because of their religion (which as a whole was persecuted for a whole slough of reasons, including that they were anti-slavery), were evil because of their skin color.

I see I misinterpreted your comment. I thought you were saying that you hate white people anyway and that CRT didn't cause it. I realize now that you mean you just don't hate white people 😂

Because many people do hold that idea. You're not the only leftist in America

Were you taught as a kindergartener that white people oppress you and are evil because of their skin color? If you have, how do you not see how bad that is, whether you believe it or not? If you haven't, then whether or not you personally hate white people is of no concern. We don't want small school children to be taught to hate each other. That's it.

kids should learn the truth, not "columbus discovered america and black people enslaved themselves".
1 up, 3y
Columbus wasn't the first person to step foot on American soil, but he did discover America for Europe, which is the origin of this country and most others in this land. Without him, Enlightnment Era Liberals would have had no place to establish the American Experiment.

Black people didn't exclusively enslave themselves, and no teacher claims that and gets away with it with left or right leaning parents. WE ALL HATE SLAVERY YOU LYING F*CKTARD!

The critical race theory we don't want in classrooms is the idea that white people alive today hold blame for the bad that their ancestors committed, and it requires them to nearly worship at the feet of black people in order to be a proper "antiracist." Officially, "Critical race theory" was a social and legal theory founded by Derrick Bell, and every intricacy isn't taught in kindergarten classrooms. What is taught in some areas, which red states are rightfully banning, are dumbed down versions of it. They encourage racial solidarity, where Black, Mexican, or Native band together with themselves and make the "oppressive white kids" know how much they are held down by their existence. They teach the false ideas of the 1619 project, which the New York Times quietly edited to make it pass fact checks after it had done the damage. They teach that America was founded not on the principle of a representative government where nobody holds absolute power, but only to keep down black and native people. If that was true, Slavery could have never been abolished and reservations couldn't exist! They teach the works of race hustlers like Ibram X Kendi. THIS is what we stand against being taught in the classroom. Read one of those "Anti CRT" bills that have passed in red states and you'll see the teachings of MLK codified into law. I DARE YOU TO GO READ THEM!

trumps few reforms did not reform police and did not end racial profiling.

I meant about drugs. On that topic, though, can you give evidence that racial profiling happens today?

you didn't read enough links.

I actually did read through that very website. What little data they gave lacked context, such as how cases where a mandatory minimum sentence are pursued typically involve more than drug use alone.

if gov grows and sells hard drugs to ID'ed and tracked users in exchange for mandatory counseling and support, in small controlled amounts, there are no "dealers" and gangs starve. Gang wars end.

tracking users is the key to offering services and addressing crimes committed that can be tied to drug use that can't be prosecuted as easily without tracking/history. if caught, mandatory rehab OR jail if they refuse, fail, reoffend.

right now, petty criminals go free without the system knowing there is an addiction.

What about people who are denied it by the government because they can't handle it, so they go to an illegal source. That is a really interesting take, though

case workers get people checked out and registered. if there's a better drug for them, they start with that. psych, support, socialism :)

it's the only way.
0 ups, 3y
Do you really expect people to just listen to the government!? The current drug problem proves they don't?

conservatives pick and choose which drugs to legalize and which ones to criminalize harder than others based on which race "needs" them more.

meanwhile limbaugh gets off with....slap on the wrist?

"conservatives pick and choose which drugs to legalize and which ones to criminalize harder than others based on which race "needs" them more."

BS. Now you are just falsely attributing bad intention to us as you always do. Despite that, I continued researching the topic.

Twice today I have pressed Control instead of shift while typing "R" and thrown away really long posts (once to Octavia and now here), but long story short, without explaining the data I looked through to come to this conclusion, I have found that there really does seem to be a level of racism in policing by arresting blacks more than whites in relation to Marijuana use. I admit that I was slow to accept it because I had fallen into the mindset of the crowd in "the boy who cried wolf." I was used to mostly BS allegations of racism so I was slow to see the truth in this. Sorry for that!

It seems to be a problem of personal bias in officers who are making the arrests, as they are not trained to be racist. I don't think the problem is to defund the police, because then we fall into anarchy. I think the best solution for pot and light drugs of that nature would be to decriminalize it so long as dealers are regulated in order to prevent extortion of users via an addiction they may build (One of the few things I believe the government should actually regulate). For harder drugs, though, I believe the best solution would be to not send users to prison and instead offer rehab, but to give much harsher sentences to dealers, especially those who have destroyed the lives of people who became hooked. This is one of the few areas where I believe the left is more correct than the right, but I do believe that there are still dangerous extremes in the left, such as those who want complete decriminalization of all drugs and abolishing of police altogether, so we have to be careful about how this issue is solved.

the drug war is the most blatant example of institutionalized systemic racism.

rehab for white drugs, jail for black drugs.

racial profiling of minorities because they have a higher likelihood to have drugs in traffic stops.

Not since Trump's criminal justice reform

i was taught that whites were superior to other races, yes.

because white invented everything, freed everybody, civilized first, lived in nice areas and didn't cause problems.

watching PWT denigrate themselves, i started to question why.

it had nothing to do with reverse racism, it was because the hierarchy was built on lies.

show me what in this link is objectionable to you:

"Education Week describes the core of CRT as the idea that race is a social construct and racism is neither an individual bias nor prejudice—it is "embedded in the legal system" and supplemented with policies and procedures."

This idea of systemic racism, that our country has systems in play that actively work to hold down minorities, is completely unfounded. There were bad times when minorities were oppressed and had to fight for their civil rights, bit those have passed, and they now have equality, if not advantage, under the law.

CRT isn't taught in kindergarden.

i don't hate white people and I believe everything taught in CRT.

so stop worrying.

You are either lying or confused. What do you believe we think is taught to some kindergarteners that you don't believe is?

Nope, not even close. You don’t need to say it specifically. You have said it many times indirectly with your skin color racism. White conservatives this and whites that. Nor do I claim POC are the cause of any of my life’s failures.
