I see what youâre saying, honestly if we chose for them not to exist, we would get our rights faster, but some people canât handle not showing off their pride for 5 minutes. In most cases this is disrespectful, but I know not everyone is being disrespectful with it, I think there are some people who are wearing it to show that they had a family member who was an LGBTQ veteran, and showing that they went through some hard times. I agree that most people who are wearing it think they deserve the same respect as the people who got them the rights that do have and those people are not people to base our community off of, but if you do, we took that risk when we made ourselves a part of it. I understand you donât think that any LGBTQ soldier needs any special recognition, and to be honest, they donât, but some people want it to be known that they know an LGBTQ veteran
