My personal opinion, is Trump is not interested in another term. What he is willing to do, is stand in the way of most of the sling and arrows i.e. be an enormous distraction, until the next leader clearly emerges. It is probably not DeSantis this time, what with his wife's cancer.

I agree with your assessment that Trump will stand and sling arrows, etc. That is why it is so important for someone to establish themselves early out. They'll need time to show their grit against both Trump and the left.
