Not all plastics are recyclable equally. The more generations recycled, the lesser the quality and usefullness. Some, like single use plastics, are not worth the cost of recycling, so basically pile up at centers with nowhere to go.
Large solar arrays can COOK a bird in flight. The ones used to heat salt are real good at this too. Some deaths are caused by crashing into the structures. As seen with the one in the picture, some look like lakes, killing birds crashing into them not knowing they're not water.
Also as seen in that pic, that's a whole lot of acreage in already sparsely habitated and delicate ecosytems in which are rendered devoid of the creatures that would normally live there.
Rooftop panels are better alternatives than these sky fryers for less concentrated heat, although as birds can crash into windows,,,
