vaccine should be a choice. I'm not an anti vaxxer, I've taken all my other vaccines, because obviously they've been proven to actually solve the problem and not harm anyone through years of people taking these vaccines, but covid vaccines we still don't know the long term effects of, and they don't seem to solve the problem, as people with both shots can still catch and spread covid. i have no problem if someone else wants to take the vaccine but i don't want to. at my age the risk of dying from covid is low, and even if I take the vaccine I can still get covid, and I'd rather take my chances with covid then the possible effects of the vaccine. Also just to clarify I know vaccines don't cause autism and don't have microchips in them, and I know vaccines can be helpful, I just don't know about the covid vaccine. I'm not opposed to taking it at some point, I just don't want to at this point

NGL (and I am a liberal who believes in the existence of more than two genders), when a 12 year old tells me that they're lithosexual and probably trans because they don't feel comfortable with their body, I always think that it COULD be, but it's also possible that that's the description of where they are today, and they may think and feel differently in a year or two. But it feels real at the moment, and they're entitled to their experience. Also, some of those people WILL still feel that way at 25, and are going to transition from a place of truth.

what is terrifying in what you posted is that, liberal parents act on the 12 year olds nonsensical , incomplete, underdeveloped idea of sexuality - and give them hormone blockers. a 12 year old is in the earliest portion of puberty and is nearly completely unaware of their own sexuality. There is a very real problem in the household where that type of situation is being discussed. Also in 99% of children going through puberty , gender dysphoria does not surface or even register in the kid. So, comparing puberty with a mental illness is disingenuous and misinformation. at 18 a person can do whatever they want with their body they are legally an adult, a 12 year old should not and is not.

How many parents are actually using puberty blockers, though (which aren't even permanent)? And why do you care so much what decisions these families are making with their doctors that don't affect anyone else?

no, the only other group that had a 40% suicide rate were Jews during the Holocaust. Someone refusing to acknowledge a guy wearing make up and a dress as a women is not anything close to being arrested and starved, beaten and executed. Suicide means there is an internal problem, not an external problem- like not being accepted, that is why I brought up the transitional suicide rates - even when they take on the persona of the gender they wish to be , the rates remain equal to or in some reports higher. For some weird reason Society has taken this one form of mental disorder and promote it, instead of treat it -can you image if we did this with paranoids or psychotics? Love that you got a little girl in a princess outfit to describe what being a girl is, I actually agree with that pic..ask her about what it means to be a boy and she probably won't be able to tell you as much. I think the only thing we disagree on is that , imo, how you feel has nothing to do with who you are biologically, and you think, that how you feel completely defines who you are biologically. Okay, former preschool aide here: The whole princess thing comes from a very strong emphasis on defining gender. 4-6 year olds love making rules: teal is a girl color, red is a boy color, boys play with shovels, girls use rakes . . . . it goes on and on. They're defining their gender all the time. (This has NOTHING to do with their future sexuality -- it's just gender.)

However, science and facts support the idea that gender is a lot more complex than its biological component. Gender dysphoria is a real medical issue, based in brain structures and chemistry, and often independent of physical gender.
