The science behind it is that Mount Everest is just near space. Space is really cold if you go up there but Mount Everest is near space which means it's cold.

it comes from the moisture on the mountain, plus the cold weather. also, some clouds actually ARE above Mt. Everest. Science.

Think about it like a freezer, There are no clouds in there but the temperature is so low it freezes food, drinks, etc.

Wouldn't you need water or vapour to freeze things though? How do you do that without clouds?
