You spread your disease here, and you cause a disruption, so in fairness YOU should be judged as well.

He/ she/ it never has anything to offer, blocked long ago. I see the name and never even bother with the comment. With limited free time I have no time for that foolishness. Anyone that still thinks covid is an emergency two years in is a waste of time.

And before 2019 it was cool to work sick. Now you’re evil even if you are not sick.

It was by far the biggest problem with US office culture: nobody could afford to go to the doctor, nobody could afford to take a sick day, everyone came in to work sick and everyone made everyone else sick. And any employer who thought that was a good thing shouldn't be one.

It was not about being unable to see a doc. Some illnesses don’t even require it. It was about the status of grinding and some fear of being left behind on the corporate ladder if you were gone.

Not sure what your point is. People were coming into work sick and making everyone else sick with them, and any boss who thought this was good for productivity shouldn't be one.

True today. Not the culture of that time though.

What? What I wrote has always been true. The culture was that of expectations to work when you were sick but that was as much as a mistake then as it is now. The culture was wrong.

Past cultures were very judgy of themselves. It just took a global crisis to make everyone realise that the judgy people were right all along.

You think it's changed? My work has a point system. So if I call out sick "too many times" i get disciplined. Well, I've now been sick "too many times" so if I call out sick, I'll get disciplined. Guess who's now going to work even though they're sick.

Yup, so, your employers have learned nothing in all of this.
