The infection was a complication of Covid. If you want to be technical his death certificate will probably list the cause of death as "Cardiac Arrest--Onset: minutes, as a result of
Septic Infection--Onset days, as a result of COVID-19 infection, onset weeks." What that means is that his heart probably would not have stopped, without the infection, which would not have occurred without the COVID-19 infection.
