Seriously what's the big deal?

As far as Imgflip and I are concerned, there’s nothing wrong with just having an alt. It’s what you do with that alt account that creates the stigma against alt accounts. Some are created specifically to get around comment timers that they earned for violating TOS with their main account, others are created to troll, harass, spam, or perform any other sort of action that has a detrimental effect on the community without having any blowback on their main accounts. Regarding IP however, yeah, alts would definitely be a huge problem if they are voting. Still though, as stream mods and owners aren’t able to compare IP addresses, there isn’t much one really can do to figure out who’s an alt and who isn’t without Community or Global Mod intervention into the issue.

i think the argument by pepe peeps is that Sloth used to so the same thing, and is a hypocrite. but i can’t speak on whether or not that’s true really.

Like some people said already, its mostly the stigma, and I_P terrorists (Richard, WN etc), who were infamous for using alts.
I think it also plays a part in wether someone can trust another, as now, the almost constant finger pointing, we can't really trust others anymore, for fear of them being a terrorist alt.
Also, that's why this community comes off as snobbish, or closed to new users, because, after all these terrorist attacks, we're like a healing wound. We are better off than before (because we dealt with the threat), but we need the chance to heal.

Alting itself isn't a problem, its just how alting is used and perceived.

TL:DR: Alts are not the problem. How we see and how ppl use them is

Alts have a bad history on here. WN used alts to keep coming back, and Richard used an alt to rig the HOC election.

They’re fine if they don’t vote in elections, it’s just when they do.

Some people have done bad things with alts here, so the implication some are pushing is that everyone who has an alt is bad.

But it’s not uncommon. People have alts for all sorts of different personal and Imgflip-related reasons. The most basic one is the 10-stream creation limit which is hard coded into Imgflip. If you have more than 10 stream ideas, you’ll need an alt or get a friend to make new stream for you, but having an alt is easier.

As you can see from this meme or glancing at my profile I have quite a few more streams than that.

I’ve never used my alts to harass or impersonate anyone, or try to rig an election, or even comment one time on this stream.

If the mods of PRESIDENTS want to ban my alts out of an abundance of caution, they can go ahead. It won’t impact me at all.

Andrew wants to claim this sloth account is my “alt” when it’s clearly my main. (#15 on the Imgflip all-time leaderboard, the account I use every day, etc. etc.) Well, the mods of PRESIDENTS can make that call if they believe him. :)

We should ask the Stream Owners if there is a no alt account rule for your situation.

For all intents and purposes, I see sloth as the main account. Though technically it's an alt, but whatever. I'm not interested in splitting hairs over it. I can't speak for Envoy on that though (though he's kinda an alt himself, this being his second account)

I deleted my first 2 due to harassment from a group of trolls.

sorry bout that, imgflip do be like that sometimes. that’s honestly a factor in why i deleted as well. the military alts were in every comment section of any image i posted, even outside of this stream.

Imgflip has said deleting and coming back is fine, not anything to worry about.

Multiple accounts at the same time to game the system or beat Imgflip limits/actions a different story.
