A gun, if used properly or improperly has the ability to kill people. Likewise, a gun, if used properly, might go through it's entire existence as a gun without killing anyone. I've owned multiple guns for over 40 years and none of them have killed anyone. Who knows, though, someone could break into my home tonight and I and my gun would kill them, using the gun properly.

I come from a long line of gun owners. No one in my genealogy has ever murdered any one, with a gun or anything else.

I have heard a leftist say this recently but a couple of decades ago the common thought among the left is that if you own a gun it will tempt you to kill someone and it is all just a matter of time. Just like a gun cannot defy the laws of physics and just start shooting people on its own, a gun is also not supernatural. It does not have Jedi mind tricks making people do its will.
