Oh, that's interesting. Unsurprising it had to be suggested in June, and even if Nintendo already did so or are attempting to instill gender orientations,---unrelated but I have to say it---the biggest supporters would obviously be the furry community. EVEN SO, this could have potential in changing gameplay mechanics. Since they're not used to bisexual or non binary characters, we can't expect a perfect change; then again, gender doesn't really affect gameplay does it?

Nintendo does have Non binary Pokemon.
Lots of Pokemon (legendary, and Machine Pokemon all have no gender (most of the time))

Bruh that’s because they’re LEGENDARY and have barely been spotted and researched so they don’t know what the sexual organs look like PLUS most of them are supposed to be immortal and therefore don’t need to reproduce

Back when I was younger I just assumed it was cause you could only catch the Pokémon once so they figured you could just name the Pokémon as an example “Moltres (symbol for either gender)” and that’s why they had the gender symbols on the keyboard
