I have known many with downs syndrome. Many are lovely people. My Church has many that attend regularly. We help them in many ways.

Special Olympics is a great way to get to know some really special people.

I have a friend that her doctor told, the baby would be a monster and she needed an abortion. Gladly she refused and her daughter awas a lovely (absolutely normal) young lady the last time I saw her. That was over 35 years ago, and I have lost contact with them. She (the daughter) may have grand children by now.

I fully agree. When I was in school, probably around 8th grade, I was a teacher’s assistant in the special needs class and I saw that lots of kids with mental disabilities are among the sweetest innocent people I’ve met. And there’s also those on the high functioning end that can still function just fine in society despite challenges.
