From what I can tell, Biden put the pause on the drilling lease auctions in January as he wanted to review for environmental impact, but 13 states sued in federal court to end the suspensions citing loss of jobs, etc. The judge ordered Biden to resume the auctions. Not sure if he can go against that.

Here's a thought that may not have occurred to you;

You can drill without destroying the planet.

Shocking, right? Turns out you can go in once the resources have been extracted and reclaim the land. Here in MT we run extensive reclamation projects. You cannot tell the difference between what was an old dig site and what natural land was never touched. Groundwater and other such invisible metrics are taken into account as well.

The other side of this coin is that Biden has always made a career out of being in the middle of his political spectrum and this shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone even if they go to more damaging methods like excessive fracking.

If we held the 2020 election right now all over again, I'd still vote for Biden.
